A winner’s DNA.
CUPRA recently became the sponsor of the Ducati Team at the MotoGP World Championship, bringing to our team two prominent names from the racing world. Jorge Lorenzo from Spain, ranked fifth on the list of all-time Spanish MotoGP race winners and Andrea Dovizioso from Italy, who conquered six different races in the space of five months in 2017. And in case you were wondering what the connection is between a car brand and a motorcycle brand – we’re tied by passion for the track.
To give the two Ducati riders a proper welcome, first we presented them with unique personalised CUPRA helmets featuring their achievements and success stories. We then invited them to test drive our CUPRA competition car for the very first time. The CUPRA TCR, with its new DSG gearbox for maximum performance and sheer driving thrill of its 350 HP engine. Location? The Castelloli circuit, designed primarily for motorcycles but nonetheless highly satisfying for four-wheel racers. And that’s not all. Two of our top professional CUPRA TCR drivers joined them on the track to pass on their car racing expertise. Pepe Oriola, the youngest driver to race in the World Touring Car Championship and Jordi Gene, who competed in the World Touring Car Championship from 2005 to 2010. Can you guess who will make it over the finish line first?
In the end, we want to rethink racing together. Which is why we’re joining forces. One team. One family. One racing DNA. United to challenge the status quo of motorsport and to lead its evolution. What a thrilling chapter this is going to be.
